100 miles! Are you crazy?: Perhaps. But, it’s for such a great cause, we couldn’t help it! The 100 Mile Club® is a non-profit organization that has a simple, low-cost and proven solution to our nation’s childhood obesity epidemic.

Preliminary Route (Subject to Change): The route for the 100-Mile Endurance Challenge cuts through the heart and hugs the coast of Southern California. Athletes who participate in this event will run through three counties and 20 cities. This event starts at the 100 Mile Club in Corona, CA and finishes at the Santa Monica Pier. While most of the running is on the Santa Ana River Trail or on sidewalks that boarder the beach, there are some places where the runners will need to wait in order to cross streets.

Significance: The event starts on the offices of the 100 Mile Club along with some of the kids who are signed up for the 100 Mile Club® for the 2012/13 school year. Real-time updates of the events as they unfold will be broadcast via Twitter and Facebook.
Awards: Those who finish the full 100 miles within the time limit of 30 hours will receive a sub-30 hour buckle. This year, we will be awarding special sub-24 buckles to participants who finish the course in less than 24 hours.
Aid Stations: Mandatory Check-In stations will be available at the approximate 25, 50 and 75 mile-marks. All athletes must check in and be weighed at each Chech-In Station. Water, sports drink and basic supplies will be available at each of the stations.
Crew: Due to the format of this point-to-point, urban ultramarathon, all runners must have crew for the full 100 miles. Support can best be delivered via crew members either running or riding along side of you. Note: There are significant portions of the route that are not easily accessible by car. We strongly recommend that you receive support from at least two crew members switching every 25 miles.
Nearest Airport: The nearest airport to William McKinley Elementary School is Ontario Airport (ONT).
Other Airports: Alternatives are LAX, SNA and LGB.
