…bring the ultra to the kids!!

The 100 Mile Club® is proud to invite you to an ultra like no other:

RUN4Kids 24 Hour Ultramarathon, Relay, and BIG Running Party!! (R4K24)

Let’s run around the clock! Kids, grown-ups, and ultra runners (kids at heart!) will all run together on this incredible day!
The Run4Kids 24 Hour Ultramarathon, Relay, & BIG Running Party! (R4K24) takes place on a one-half mile loop track at Auburndale Intermediate School in Corona, California. It will run directly in conjunction with our Annual Run4Kids 12-hour event where our 100 Mile Club® Kids will be running to earn miles throughout the day.

Our ULTRAteam and relay runners run this race for all the right reasons: to achieve a personal goal and to support our 100 Mile Club Kids in their quest to run 100 miles in a year.

We absolutely love our Ultra Team and R4K24 Relay Runners!

Proceeds from R4K24 go to the 100 Mile Club charity to support efforts to fight childhhod incativity and obesity and encourage children to seek out their personal best in school, at home, on the field, and in life. For more information about 100 Mile Club®, visit http://www.100mileclub.com.

The R4K24 ULTRAmarathon & Relay is open to solo runners or teams of 2-20 runners. Teams may be all male, all female, or a mixture of both. Solo and Relay will be professionally chip-timed and results will be available throughout the 24 hour period via web and twitter @r4k24.

The object is to complete 100 miles within a 24 (up to 28) hour period. Even the buckle and relay medal are designed by our 100 Mile Kids using real kid-generated art! Are you in?

Registration is just $100 with a small fundraising/donation expectation. Discount codes are available…

TEACHERS!! Use code 100MCTeachersRock for a %25 discount on relay or solo races.

First 10 registrants! Use code FIRST10 for a $10 discount on solo race. There are still a couple available. WOOHOO!

Visit www.r4k24.com for details and to register yourself or your team!

We hope to see you there.

The objective of this post is to link interested pacers with EC100 runners who still need nighttime pacers the weekend of the race. Though the EC100 Race Directors are not responsible for finding pacers for our runners, we certainly want to use this blog to offer a helping hand.
As specified in EC100 Race Rules, ALL runners must have dedicated crew for the entire race, and MUST HAVE A PACER AT NIGHT. No exceptions.

We have a few runners on the roster who are seeking additional pacers during non-daylight hours of this race. If you are interested in pacing a runner at night (either on a bike, or on foot), please contact us here by responding directly to this post, connecting on our FB Page, or using the Contact Us page.

The 100 Mile Club® is proud to announce the final designs for our 2012 100 Mile Endurance Challenge (EC100) finisher buckles. Our 2011 buckles looked like this:

We loved them, but there is always room for improvement. :)

As noted in suggestions from our 2011 participants, we have added a sub-24 hour buckle, and we thought it would be fun if the buckles were a little bit bigger (not obnoxiously bigger, just a little bit…still totally wearable!). Also, we added the words URBAN ULTRAMARATHON to recognize the uniqueness of this point-to-point urban race, AND our palm tree must have gotten some sun…

Runners: We have a buckle waiting for you at the finish line! Please utilize the resources here to LEARN THE COURSE. Remember that running through the city at night means you must be blinking and glowing and VISIBLE! Also, you must have a pacer with you at night. Safety first always.

Crew: We can’t wait to see you at the finish line and take a picture of you with your runner as he or she proudly shows his or her buckle to the world! We have a page just for you right here…with driving directions and tips, hints, and suggestions to make this a smooth and enjoyable event for you, as well.

Spectators and Friends: Join us any time along the way!! Visit this map to check out the whole route, and please join us at the EC100 SENDOFF on October 20, 2012 in Corona, CA. Click here for details.
